The NDIS is a new way of providing individualized support for people with a disability that takes a lifetime to approach. The NDIS is about giving you more choice in how you live your life by allowing you to control the way your support funding is spent. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Our role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
What can be funded? *daily assistance support *transport, if deemed reasonable and necessary *help to obtain or keep a job *therapeutic supports, including behavioral support *home support assistance *assistive technology *modifications to your home *equipment to help you get around *vehicle modifications to support disability
*any support not related to your disability *supports already funded in a different way, e.g. Medicare *any cost that relates to general day-to-day living costs.
